My Perfect Life

"I never really wanted a perfect life. Just one that’s happy."

I grew up in a small house with a simple lifestyle. My mom is a house wife with few networking business. My dad was an Overseas Filipino Worker. They worked so hard to send us to a reputable school and in return we gave them good grades.

There are times when we don't have money to buy chicken nor pork chop for dinner. But still were so happy having pork and beans or noodles for our meals. We were also lucky to have surrounded by home-grown veggies. [My mom has a green thumb, by the way.]

We have a simple life or should I rather say we belong to a lower class society back then. But it never crossed my mind to have it the other way around. I never wanted to live in a big house. It looks creepy. I never wanted to win a lottery. Money might cost us our lives. In my young mind, I know having a big sum of money would mean sadness or a loss of my loved ones. I don't know! But I wanted our life the way it is. It's not perfect, there were ups and downs, but we're happy.

I have my own family now and we do encounter life's challenges, but in general, we are happy! [So I won't be asking for a mansion nor a luxury car.] There are still lots to be thankful for! ^_^

Special Education Week

Children with special needs like my daughter Andrea don't have an illness, so there is no cure and it's not contagious. They want what we all want - to be accepted and loved. Thanks to all of you who copied and pasted this in the past few days. It's special education week and this is in honor of all the kids who need a little extra help and understanding.

Lesson Learned

I have already taught myself not to be too attached to material things. It would all be gone someday when your time is up. What happen this morning [mmm...someone just stole my necklace!] gave me a shock but it does not worry me at all. Yeah maybe it has a sentimental value because it was from my Papa Dario, but it's okay.

As I said, bad things may have happened but nothing beats God's grace! I'm still happy because Andrea had her first aqua therapy this morning. She enjoys it a lot! and I'm so happy for her!

Lesson learned: Trust your instinct!

You Are A Diamond

by PravsWorld

Never despise life’s fiery trials.
They are God’s ways of bringing out the best in you.

Always remember, you are like a Diamond.
And more a diamond is cut, the more it sparkles.

Ready to Run!

As part of my new year's resolution of living a healthier lifestyle, my friends and I will run 5 kilometers for the Rexona Run 2010 on August 1. We are all first timers kaya super excited! hahaha. We've already registered yesterday at Glorietta 4 Timex. Excited?! but the truth is... takot maubusan ng size for the singlet! hihihi

Try muna namin ang 5k. Pag sisiw lang eh di go next time for the 21k. Why not di ba!? [That's the spirit!]

For the preparation, [sabi nila] I should have my running gears ready. Running shoes... check! Running short and shirt... mmm ... will scout pa what's best to have.

For tips; Be mentally ready and in great shape during the race. Drink a strong cup of black coffee half hour before the race. Caffaine will stimulate the fat burning. Drink regularly. The body can process approximately one liter per hour. 1

Studies have shown that the hardest part of any distance event is the middle section, Naylor also recommends that runners strategize to conserve energy and concentration for the inevitable middle miles.2

Good luck to us! :D

Bad Dreams

My hubby woke me up this morning because I was crying. I was having a bad dream. I still felt the squeezing chest pain and the emotions from that dream. When i tried to recall what it is all about, I could not remember the details. All I remember is my Mom holding a house plan [i think]. Nothing more than that. [Hmmm. Ano kaya yun?]

I need some dream catcher nowadays! wew!

Dream meaning: Cry
To dream that you are crying, signifies a release of negative emotions that is more likely caused by some waking situation rather than the events of the dream itself. Your dream is a way to regain some emotional balance and a way to safely let out your fears and frustrations. In our daily lives, we tend to ignore, deny, or repress our feelings. But in our dream state, our defense mechanisms are no longer on guard and thus allow for the release of such emotions.

To see someone else crying in your dream, may be a projection of your own feelings onto someone else. If you do not cry in your waking life, then seeing someone else cry may be a little easier to deal with then seeing yourself cry.

To wake up crying, represents some suppressed hurt or previous trauma that is coming up to the surface. You can no longer suppress these emotions. They need to be dealt with head on.

To dream that no one hears or responds to your cries, represents your helplessness and difficulties and frustrations in trying to communicate with others. You feel that your words are falling on deaf ears. Perhaps your dream is telling you to be more vocal and work harder to get your point across.

Left-Brained or Right-Brained?

Reposting from Raquel's Blog.

I only see a lady turning clockwise. Nahirapan ako paikutin sya ng counter clockwise. Andyan yung sinubukan kong pumikit at tingnan ulit yung image.

Which means I am random, intuitive, holistic, synthesizing and subjective.

Right-brained!

If you see this lady turning in clockwise you are using your right brain.
If you see it her tuning the other way, you are using left brain.
Some people do see both ways, but most people see it only one way.

See if you can make her go one way and then the other by shifting the brain's current.
BOTH DIRECTIONS CAN BE SEEN.

Experimentation has shown that the two different sides or hemispheres of the brain are responsible for different manners of thinking. The following table illustrates the differences between left-brain and right-brain thinking:

Left Brain / Right Brain
Logical/ Random
Sequential/ Intuitive
Rational/ Holistic
Analytical/ Synthesizing
Objective/ Subjective

Try nyo din! :D
