Parting Time

Emo mode on... as if no one is reading...

Nakakalungkot pala talaga pag ikaw yung iiwanan.

For the past 3 weeks feeling ko emotionally stressed ako. andyan kasi yung issue about laglagan, back stabbing and office politics. Wala ang focus ko sa work kasi affected much ako. Nasaktan kasi kami kaya ang tendency magalit sa mga taong involve. Kaya ayoko ng politika eh masakit sa ulo. I decided to move on. Forgive. Forget. Kahit ano. Bahala na sila kung ano gusto nila.

Looking at the bright side. Lahat ng ito plan ni Lord. Kaya wala dapat pagsisihan o ika-emo pa di ba? Everything will be alright. People come and go. The important thing is, they will be in your heart forever.

O well. Life must go on. Basta mamimiss ko team mates ko. Raquel, Michelle, Roman, Danny, Charlie, Jake, Pamela.

My Noisy Stomach

I went to an internal medicine doctor to check the annoying gurgling sounds of my stomach. I'm also having reflux whenever I eat any kind of chocolates and drink coffee or iced tea. I was on a soup diet for about three weeks now. So I've already cut down my sodas, coffee and tea. Just water. I thought it will help in cleansing my tummy from too much acid. I also trim down my rice to zero. Diet tips says I should eat more veggies to help my digestion. So I did. Veggie soup for breakfast. Veggie salad and fruits for lunch and dinner. And a lot of water. I feel good about this. I felt nothing wrong. Just my tummy's bubbling noise.

It gets annoying and embarrassing when rumbling noises are so loud that my colleagues hears them too. So I decided to see a doctor. All of a sudden, everything I know I was doing right was wrong. I was diagnosed with Non-ulcer Dyspepsia. My doctor said she can't hear my stomach and intestine working. My stomach have too much acid. I have indigestion. So she gave me medicine for one month treatment and lots of lab test (blood, xray, ultrasound). She also gave me a 'What-not-to-eat' list which includes leafy veggies, salad, milk, coffee (any drinks that contains caffeine) and alcohol, chocolates and mint, raw meat or fish (any Japanese food) and shellfish. Now I need to drink 3 liters of water. She advised me to walk 15 mins after eating and not to lie down 2 hours after eating. I also need to elevate my trunk when sleeping so the acid from my stomach won't get to my oesophagus. 1

Sounds like it's not a simple noisy stomach after all, eh?

But thank God, non-ulcer dyspepsia does not lead to cancer or other serious illnesses.

Basic Fat-Burning Soup

Disclaimer: I got this from a friend. He said he lost 13kilos in 2 weeks. It's quite promising so I wanted to try it.

This diet is derived from one given at the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital for overweight heart patients to lose weight rapidly, usually before surgery. Modifications have been added by Ed Kasper L.Ac, Acupuncturist and Herbalist.  expect to lose 10-17 pounds in one week.  Kombu  (seaweed) and Shitake Mushrooms are available in the oriental section of most markets.  We do not make any recommendations or variations on this diet and it is meant only to be used for the seven days and to help prepare one to lose weight safely before surgery. It is not meant for long term or repeated use.

Ingredients:
large green onions
1-2 pounds of sliced tomatoes
Kombu Seaweed large piece
Garlic 4 cloves
large red onion
2 green peppers
large head of cabbage
1 bunch celery
1 cayenne pepper
shitake mushrooms
plenty of fresh pure clean water
knorr cubes (Chicken, beef,  or Pork)
rosemary
thyme

Cut vegetables in small to medium pieces, sauté in olive oil & cover with water. Boil fast for 10 (ten) minutes. Cut to simmer & continue cooking until vegetables are tender. This soup can be eaten any time you are hungry. Eat as much as you want, whenever you want. This soup will not add calories. The more you eat, the more you will lose. Fill a thermos in the morning if you will be away during the day. If eaten alone for indefinite periods, you would suffer from malnutrition.

Drink plenty of fresh pure water all day. Drink 1/2 of your body weight in ounces of water. If you weigh 100 pounds then  drink 50 ounces of water.

7 day Diet
1. All fruits except bananas,  un-sweetened tea, cranberry juice, or water. And soup.
2. All vegetables and big baked potato and butter. And soup
3. Eat all soup, fruits and vegetables you want.
4. Bananas and skim milk. And soup.
5. Beef or lamb and tomatoes. substitute either wheat gluten (seitan) for the beef, chicken or fish. And soup.
6. Beef or lamb & vegetables. substitute either wheat gluten (seitan) for the beef, chicken or fish. And soup.
7. Rice, un-sweetened fruit and vegetables.

DAY ONE: All fruits except bananas. Melon and watermelon are lower in calories than most fruits. Eat only the soup and fruits. For drinks - un-sweetened tea, cranberry juice, or water.

DAY TWO: All vegetables. Eat until you are stuffed with all the fresh, raw or canned vegetables. Try to eat leafy vegetables and stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. Eat along with the soup. At dinner time on this day, reward yourself with a big baked potato an butter. Do not eat any fruits.

DAY THREE: Eat all soup, fruits and vegetables you want. Do not have a baked potato. If you have eaten for three days, as above, and have not cheated, you will find you have lost 5-7 pounds.

DAY FOUR: Bananas and skim milk. Eat as many as 3 bananas and drink as many glasses of water as you can on this day along with the soup. Bananas are high in calories and carbohydrates and so is the milk, but on this particular day your body will need the potassium and the carbohydrates, proteins and calcium to lessen your craving for sweets.

DAY FIVE: Beef and tomatoes. You may have 10-20 ounces of beef  and a can of tomatoes or as many as 6 fresh tomatoes on this day. Try to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water this day to wash away the uric acid in your body. Eat the soup at least once this day. You can substitute for the beef, chicken or fish.

DAY SIX: Beef & vegetables. Eat to your heart's content of the beef and vegetables this day. You can have two or three steaks if you like, with green leafy vegetables, but no baked potato. Be sure and eat the soup at least once today. You can  for the beef, chicken or fish.

DAY SEVEN: Rice, un-sweetened fruit and vegetables. Again, stuff yourself. Be sure to have the soup at least once today.

By the end of the seventh day, if you have not cheated on the diet, you will have lost 10-17 pounds. If you have lost more than 15 pounds, stay off the diet for two days before resuming the diet again for day one.

This seven-day eating plan can be used as often as you like. As a matter of fact, if correctly followed, it will clean your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being as never before.

After only seven days of this process, you will begin to feel lighter by at least 10 lbs., and possibly 17. Having an abundance of energy continue this plan as long as you wish and feel the difference.
This diet is fast, fat burning and the secret is that you will burn no more calories than you take in. It will flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well being. This diet does not lend itself to drinking alcoholic beverages at any time because of the removal for fat buildup in your system. Go off the diet at least 24 hours before intake of alcohol.

Because everyone's digestive system is different, this diet will affect everyone differently. After day three, you will have more energy than when you began, if you did not cheat. After being on the diet for several days, you will find your bowel movements have changed -- eat a cup o bran or fiber. Although you can have black coffee with this diet, you may find that you don't need the caffeine after the third day.

DEFINITE NO-NO'S - BREAD, ALCOHOL, CARBONATED DRINKS INCLUDING DIET DRINKS.

STICK WITH WATER, UN-SWEETENED TEA, BLACK COFFEE, UN-SWEETENED FRUIT JUICES, CRANBERRY JUICE AND SKIMMED MILK.

The basic fat-burning soup can be eaten anytime you feel hungry. Eat as much as you wish. Remember, the more you eat, the more you will lose. No fried foods or bread. You can eat broiled chicken (absolutely no skin) instead of beef.

Any prescribed medication will not hurt you on this diet. Continue this plan as long as you wish and feel the difference both mentally and physically. If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish for the beef on only one of the beef days. You need high protein in the beef the other days.

One of the best herbal formulas to use during this fast is Green Tea Extract capsules (Cosmo Green Tea extract). Take from 2 to tablets morning and midday and 4 in the evening. Instead of coffee or tea use a grain beverage. A very good fasting tea is a combination of nettles, chickweed and fennel seed which also helps in weight reduction. There are many excellent green drinks and soya protein powders that can be used to supplement as needed and replace meat.

To keep the weight off, replace one meal a day with soup, eat more vegetables.
Finish each meal with a bowl of soup.

Avoid all those no-no's. Avoid diet soda's and diet chemicals. Use real butter not the hypo- hydrated fakes .  Do not use foods with  high fructose sugars do not use artificial sweeteners, Use natural whole foods, like honey.

Eat good wholesome foods that are well prepared and that appeal to you.

DOTC relaunches Oplan Isnabero

Every Christmas season, commuting is one of the biggest headache we had, especially few years back when we haven't gotten Lexah yet.

In malls, you have to fall in line for hours to get a cab, most of the time. And when you tried to call a cab along the street, you need to negotiate with the driver just to get home. Sometimes, they haggle for an additional Php50 or ask you for 3x your regular fare.

Most cab driver don't wanna get stuck in traffic [who would want to, anyway?] that's why they're very choosy with their passenger... they wanted a short distance trip or just around the area. If you're from the far side of Metro Manila  [including Taguig] they will refuse to take you there with lots of alibis.

It really pisses me off!!!

Sometimes, I get in the cab first before telling the driver of my where-to. So they will have no choice but to take me there. But there are still lots of drivers who will kick [exag!] you out of their cab. Haist! This is the life of a commuter who wanted to go home and rest after a long day of super toxic workload or shopping spree.

I'm glad that the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is doing something about this. There's a campaign, Oplan Isnabero, implemented a long time ago. I just don't know if abusive drivers have been penalized already. Anyway, we can help. As far as I know, they needed 3 complains to reprimand the driver.

Here's DOTC hotline number: 7890
We may also send complain through text: 0917-247-0385 / 0919-222-74-62.
Just text the plate number and complainant's name.

Now, agencies LTO or LTFRB will just call the complainant's number to verify the complain. Unlike previous year, complainant needs to show up to these agency to validate the complain. Well, at least there's an improvement.

Oh by the way, Merry Christmas!!! ^_^
