Cheesy Tuna Corn Pasta Recipe

I love weekends. I love corn. I love pasta. This time I had a chance to cook one of my sister Cherie's pasta recipe, Cheesy Tuna Corn Pasta! Yum Yum! It's so easy to prepare that's why I love it too.

One good thing here is that you can increase or decrease the amount of some ingredients depending on your taste. If you want it more cheesy, then add more cheese. If you love corn [like me] then add more corn. So there's really no set amount of ingredients.

Here's mine:

500 gram package of any pasta you like
2 can of tuna (preferably in oil)
1 can of corn
1 sachet of mayonnaise
1 pack of all purpose cream
1 chopped onion
grated cheese of your choice (any soft white cheese would work, cheddar)
salt
pepper
olive oil
any of your favorite spices (oregano, basil)

Preparation:
1. Cook pasta. Drain and set aside.
2. Saute onion in olive oil until golden brown. Add tuna [including the oil as this will be incorporated into the pasta later] and corn.
3. In low heat, add mayonnaise and all purpose cream.
4. Add salt and pepper to taste. You may also add other spices like basil or oregano depending on your preference.
5. Add the cheese just until it melts.
6. Lastly, toss the pasta in the skillet. Mix evenly. Top with cheese. Serve.

Make 4-5 servings. Now, enjoy!

[I forgot to take a picture. I was excited to eat! wehehehe]

Pasta Carbonara Recipe

I seldom eat pasta in white sauce coz i easily get distaste. But i do love mushrooms. So the first time I went to Pancake House, I ordered for a Pasta Carbonara. And I loved it! One of my colleague said it's so easy to prepare. I was up to the challenge so I cooked this weekend for our merienda.

Here's the recipe i got from Smart Parenting Forum. I just added mushrooms.

400g spaghetti, cooked al dente
200grams bacon bits
1 can sliced mushrooms
2 nestle All-purpose Cream
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
2 Tbsp. parmesan cheese, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
salt and pepper to taste

Procedure:
1. Cook bacon until done. Remove from pan and drain onto paper towel.
2. Saute garlic and mushrooms using 1 tbsp of bacon's oil.
3. Add all-purpose cream. Stir constantly until it thickens. (Tip: Just let it simmer till thick so that you won't need to add flour or cornstarch)
4. Add parsley and 3/4 of the cooked bacon.
5. Add salt and pepper to taste. (Tip: Sometimes I make it slightly salty coz the taste will even out when you add the pasta)
6. Turn off heat and toss in the cooked pasta.
7. Toss in 1 Tbsp of the grated parmesan cheese
8. Place in serving dish and top with remaining parmesan cheese and bacon.

Pasta Cravings - Baked Macaroni Recipe

I've been craving for pasta in the past few days. I had Yellow cab's Charlie chan [yummy!] and Mcdo's spaghetti. I was looking for a place where I could have a yummy pasta treat for a "sulit" price. I remember Greenwich Baked Macaroni. It looks great and tummy-filling in the ads, but when you have it you'll only get almost three spoonful of it. Not really enough for appetencies like me.

In the past months, i have mastered baking my favorite pasta! I got this from my Ate Cherie though I did some twist for my own preference.

This is in response to Maggie's request of how-to. It's so easy so let's get started! :D
