A lecturer was giving a lecture to his student on stress management. He raised a glass of water and asked the audience, “How heavy do you think this glass of water is?”
The students’ answers ranged from 20g to 500gm.
It does not matter on the absolute weight. It depends on how long you hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it is OK. If I hold it for an hour, I will have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you will have to call an ambulance.
It is the exact same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, we will not be able to carry on, the burden becoming increasingly heavier.
What you have to do is to put the glass down, rest for a while before holding it up again. We have to put down the burden periodically, so that we can be refreshed and are ! able to carry on.
So before you return home from work tonight, put the burden of work down. Don’t carry it back home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you are having now on your shoulders, let it down for a moment if you can. Pick it up again later when you have rested.
Rest and relax. Life is short, enjoy it!! Cheers!!!!!

Earth Hour 2009
We have just joined the Earth Hour 2009 (8:30pm - 9:30 pm) :D
This is turning your lights out for just one hour.
Earth Hour is an international event organised by the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature/World Wildlife Fund), and held on the last Saturday of March each year, which asks households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change.(source)
This event is a global warming awareness initiative. By turning our lights out for just one hour we can help in the reduction of carbon emissions which reduces the effects of global warming.
And I'm proud to say we've been joining the Earth hour since 2008.
This is for the next generations. Let's VOTE EARTH!!!

Want to do something to help stop global warming?
Here are 10 simple things you can do and how much carbon dioxide you'll save doing them. (from An Inconvenient Truth)
Change a light
Replacing one regular light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb will save 150 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
Drive less
Walk, bike, carpool or take mass transit more often. You'll save one pound of carbon dioxide for every mile you don't drive!
Recycle more
You can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide per year by recycling just half of your household waste.
Check your tires
Keeping your tires inflated properly can improve gas mileage by more than 3%.Every gallon of gasoline saved keeps 20 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere!
Use less hot water
It takes a lot of energy to heat water. Use less hot water by installing a low flow showerhead(350 pounds of C02 saved per year) and washing your clothes in cold or warm water (500 pounds saved per year).
Avoid products with a lot of packaging
You can save 1,200 pounds of carbon dioxide if you cut down your garbage by 10%.
Adjust your thermostat
Moving your thermostat just 2 degrees in winter and up 2 degrees in summerYou could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year with this simple adjustment.
Plant a tree
A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime.
Turn off electronic devices
Simply turning off your television, DVD player, stereo, and computer when you're not using them will save you thousands of pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
Spread the word!

Palm Reading
When i was a little younger, i was really interested in things like palm reading, fortune telling, tarot reading and the like. I bought booklets about my zodiac sign, gemini. I wanted to know their characters, their compatible signs and their outlook in life in general. I wanted to know more about me. Sabi nga nila, "Love yourself first, before can love anyone." (Meron kasi cguro akong inferiority complex nung bata ako. Kaya i grew up shy, tame and afraid to reach out. hehehe)
During my college days, My friends and I wanted to go to a "Manghuhula". My ex's aunt kasi is a White Witch "daw". So one time, just for fun, we go to her to have our future revealed. (I have also learned that day na ndi kami ang magkakatuluyan! hehehe and it's true!) I really can't remember the rest of what she told me. mmm... memory gap? or she just talked too fast that my memory could grasp a thing she said. hays!
I also wanted to buy, during those times, a Tarot card and a book "How to read a tarot card". But i did not gave in. I believe kasi for you to have a good reading of a tarot card you should have your third eye opened first. Which i can't and I don't want to! (Afraid that i could see souls walking around me! hahaha just exaggerating!)
There was also one time that Mannix and I were walking around the Quiapo church. I was curious with all the fortune tellers around. Just for 50 pesos they will read your palm. And again, just for fun, I had my palm read. But we leave that place not believing anything she said. (Whatever you say, lady!) Well, thinking about it today, all i can say is "I guess, she's right".
Why am i telling you this? Because now i'm into reading my own palm. hehehe. I don't know but these things really interest me. Well... one day i was in a bookstore when i saw this book, "Palm Decoder". I was really eager to buy this book so i have it on my kris kringle wishlist last dec 2008. (Thanks mommy Bhelle!)
Now i'm still in the learning stage! I don't wanna mess up other peoples lives by saying "Huh?! magulo ang buhay mo iha! wala kang career! hahaha"
.... Meditating.... uhhhmmmm...... =D

My SSS Premium
If you've been to SSS site for the past months and you get pissed off upon checking your premiums, well... you'll be surprise if you visit it now! as in NOW! March 11, 2009!
Previously you'll have to wait 10 mins or more just to load your info. But today i was delighted :D super!!! ... in just a snap of a finger! tada!
They have upgraded their system and made it more secure. Now you need a username and password to login. But i still preferred the previous site where in you just need to know your SSS id number, Lastname and birthday, and you can check you account. This way i can check my parents', who are not that computer savvy, accounts. Anyway, it always been for a good reason, there are lots of hackers out there who might mess up with their system.
What i don't like about their site now is using the iframe. well... they're still using their previous pages and uses the iframe to have it on their site. The page was not consumed. err... and you can still go to that page directly so you can have a good view of your account... mmm ... Right click the online inquiry and open in new tab for new window. :D I prefer it that way :D
....
Sa wakas update na SSS ko! After 8 long months of followup. hayz!
