Pinoy Chicken Barbecue Recipe

Early this afternoon, I said I wanted a chicken barbeque and baked talong for dinner tonight. I could die in excitement just thinking about it! hahaha ^_^ So here's the best Chicken Marinade recipe I found from Overseas Pinoy Cooking.

Ingredients:

2 kilo chicken leg
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup kalamansi or lemon extract
1 cup Sprite or 7-UP
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup tomato ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 head garlic, crushed
1 tbsp. salt
large bamboo skewers
cooking oil

Cooking procedure:

Wash chicken legs and drain. Slit open chicken leg along the length to expose the bones. In a big container with lid combine marinade except oil. Now put in chicken, allow marinade to fully coat the chicken, Arrange side by side chicken cover with the lid and marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator. When ready to grill skew each chicken legs in bamboo skewers, Prepare basting sauce by adding cooking oil to left over marinade. Grill at medium to high heat for 5-8 minutes on each side, baste in between. Do not overcook, it should be moist inside, just cooked and slightly burnt outside. Serve with your favourite dipping sauce.

Baked talong:
Cut eggplant into four parts and cut to half. Fry and set aside. Saute chopped garlic, onion and tomatoes. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Cook until tomatoes are well done. Put it as toppings to eggplant and baked for few minutes.

Sorry I forgot to take a photo so I just grab one from the site. There's always a next time. ^_^

Personality Patterns

by Gild

Extraversion is the tendency to direct one's attention externally, toward others and the environment. People who are extraverted tend to be assertive and active, energetic and confident, talkative and gregarious, and often experience positive emotions.

Agreeableness reflects the tendency to be warm, helpful, friendly, and trusting, getting along easily with others, and maintaining social relationships over long periods of time.

Conscientiousness reflects the tendency to control, regulate, and manage one's impulses. Conscientious people tend to be efficient, well-organized, reliable, and responsible.

Stability is a tendency to feel calm and free of chronic negative emotions such as anxiety and depression. People who are emotionally stable tend to experience fewer mood swings, and tend to handle stress and pressure well.

Openness refers to a tendency to be interested and curious about many things. Generally, open people tend to be creative, imaginative, intellectual, and to appreciate arts and culture.

You Are Blessed!

On this day, God wants you to know

"... that you are blessed. You may think you have challenges, but you have so many blessings. Sometimes it takes only a moment of conscious effort to recognize those blessings. Once you focus on the gifts instead of the problems, your whole perspective will change and you will see blessings everywhere."

"...that you've been talking to God too much, and not listening enough. Prayer is when you talk to God. Meditation is when you become quiet and listen to God. You've learned how to talk and ask well. Time to learn how to listen and hear, because God has been answering you."

"Trials are blessings from God in another form, be grateful for each trial that comes your way, for God is teaching you to keep your faith on Him...."

"Learning to wait on God is one of the most valuable lessons you can learn. Have faith; everything is beautiful in His way!"

Bad Beauty Habits To Break

I got this from Oprah. I just listed 10 bad habits I can relate to.

1. Don't put too much makeup on your forehead. Since our forehead moves in every facial expression, it will crinkle the foundation. "Dot foundation only on your cheeks, chin, and nose; then blend extra product up into your hairline." ~ Napoleon Perdis, a makeup artist.

2. Don't rub your hair with a towel. Instead, wrap hair in a towel, lightly press with your palms to help it absorb as much water as possible, and then use a wide-tooth comb to eliminate tangles, says trichologist Philip Kingsley.

3. Matching your brows to your hair color.

4. Don't Shave Your Legs After a Long Soak in the Tub. Shave within five to ten minutes after stepping into the shower, when the warm water has softened your skin and hair.

5. Don't Spritz Fragrance Directly on Your Hair. Let the alcohol evaporates first.

6. Don't Line Your Lips Before Applying Lipstick. "Apply your lipstick; then use a lip liner to trace around the edges," he said. "The liner will glide on more smoothly than it does on a bare mouth, leaving a more natural outline but still creating a barrier against bleeding." To avoid ring-around-the-mouth, use a pencil that matches your lipstick shade, nothing darker.

7. Don't Get Too Close to the Mirror When You Pluck Your Brows.

8. Don't Brush Your Hair When It's Wet. You should detangle hair right after you wash it, but use a wide-toothed comb.

9. File in one direction only. Crystal files are good, but never use a metal one (too hard).

10. Conditioner should be used strategically and sparingly. Apply a half-dollar-size amount to the midsection and ends of the hair, since these areas have been subjected to months of sun and styling damage. Don't treat your roots, because they're already coated with the scalp's natural oils; additional emollients will just weigh hair down, making it limp.

Road Trip

It has been more than two years since I left Globalink after 8 long years of working with them. Half of my colleagues have already explored other opportunities outside. But the friendship we built forms a powerful bond between us.

From time to time, we set one free day for our get together. [Sometimes, it's hard to set a schedule for everyone without conflict with another. But if there's a wheel, there's a way! And never say die! ^_^] We do some catching up with each other. We talk about one's love life. We talk about one's career path. Sometimes, we enjoyed teasing one person. We sat on a coffee shop and chit chat for hours.

Although this happens only twice or thrice a year, It feels good to gather everyone together (or at least most of us). It feels good to be with family. The GHC-SJF-TSG Family. (Maam Amor, Kuya Jon/Malou, May/Reynold, Hya, Eillen/Bernie, Chay, Denver, Chique/Mannix, Ryan, Jhen, Jared, Michelle/Norman, Chito, Bhelle, Jayee Raymond and Abbie.)

"We must not let the grass grow on the road of friendship."
